Don't Swallow Your Tail Sleeveless Women's
Designed by Amanda Bielby, this women’s shirt features the Swallowtail butterfly. Bielby was an Artist-in-Resident with Open AIR at the Rattlesnake Creek Dam.
Bielby shares about her work, from origin to t-shirt design;
“This is from a wood carving template that I made out of a sketch I drew from a dried swallowtail butterfly I found in a spiderweb In Montana. The template I used for inlaid scagliola into a wood panel. After converting my sketch to my stencil machine it was easy to make it into a nice digital image for print.
This is an example of how working in one medium can lead to another… There is always new excitement and direction created with each piece. I have heard the saying ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’, but I like to think of it as mastering the jack of all trades and the joy of experiencing continuous learning.”
