Claire Compton grew up in Oakland, CA & moved to Missoula in 2014. Since then, she has completed a BA at the University of Montana and is currently serving as the Executive Director for Free Verse while pursuing a Master’s in English teaching. Unraveling from personal histories of trauma and loss, from deep ties to family and home place, her work explores what it means to be a human animal in this world.
