Sarah Jones
FLATHEAD LAKE BIOLOGICAL STATION
Sarah Jones (b. S.L.C. Utah) is a multi-media artist. She was awarded a BFA in painting and printmaking at the University of Utah and earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. After twenty years in Seattle, Jones is currently based in Missoula, Montana where she is an art instructor at the University of Montana. Jones’ work has been shown throughout the United States. She has been awarded various residencies including Sante Fe Art Institute, Ucross Foundation, Haystack, Bloedel Creative Residency, Vermont Studio Center, and the Oak Spring Foundation. Jones was a recipient of the Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, Artist Trust Gap Grant, and Oak Springs Garden Foundation Artist Grant. Jones’ work examines loss, grief and what is hard to see. Currently her work addresses climate change and consequent extinction.
